We all would like to have unlimited boundless energy throughout our
days activities. While this is a great thing, it is not possible to have
this level of energy every day - or is it? Those who absolutely love
what they are doing, those who have a higher purpose and know what it is
- they may come close to living this way.
For the rest of us, it would be a great help to have some tips on how
to boost our energy when needed to get through the next hour, or
meeting. The following list may provide you some help for you during
these times:
1) Drink lots of water: Think about how much water you
really don't drink. Drinking caffeine and sodas do not count as
drinking liquids. These substances actually dehydrate you instead of
help you. Caffeine is also stressful on the kidneys. It is a good idea
to buy a sports bottle and have it filled with water for regular
consumption. You should target drinking a glass of water every waking
hour.
2) Maintain a regular sleep schedule: It is not
possible to stay up late and then expect to be wide eyed and refreshed
the following morning. Weekends are especially challenging, so if you
must stay up late then do so on Friday and Saturday, but make sure you
get to bed early on Sunday.
3) Get off the sugar and caffeine roller coaster: While
coffee first thing in the morning seems to be the Great American
Tradition, it is not the best thing for you. Eating a good balanced
breakfast will go a lot further to get you going than caffeine and
sugar. If you are really rushed it does not take much so try a cup of
oatmeal, a slice of cheese or a handful of nuts is all it takes to get
you going.
4) Exercise regularly: I know this is easier said than
done with our busy schedules, but it can go a long way to helping keep
the energy going. There are many smaller things you can do throughout
the day to help increase your activity, like park further away from the
entrance or never use the elevator, only the stairs. Get creative and
you'll find ways that fit for you.
5) Avoid negative people: Negative people are really
energy vampires and they are out to zap you. Here's an example: You are
doing ok, and someone stops by to talk to you. They dump their problems
on you and when they leave and you are wiped out. They on the other
hand, feel so much better than they did, but you took it all in and are
drained. This is a good time to make up a reason to excuse yourself from
the conversation. If you have no choice, learn to protect yourself by
surrounding yourself with white light.
6) Take a 5-10 minute power nap at lunch time: Just
close your eyes and go to your quiet place where you can recharge
yourself. If you are into visualization, you can create a place in your
mind where you can go and relax. Once you have done this a number of
times just closing your eyes with the intent to relax will put you in a
relaxed state.
7) Laugh: Laughter is said to be one of the best forms
of medicine. When laughing the brain excretes chemicals which trigger
pleasure, peace and happiness. Dr. Norman Cousins healed his cancer with laughter. He rented funny movies and watched them over and over and cured himself.
8) Eat healthy living foods: Take the best supplements
you can find. Try a raw food diet to see how you feel at the end of a
week. Eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can instead of processed
foods.
These tips may not work for everyone. Give them a try for you and see which ones are the most effective for you.
